At TWO MEN AND A TRUCK we love helping your entire family move, including your furry friends. As you know moving day can be hectic and this is no exception for your pets. Our teams have completed countless moves where pets are involved and we are well trained to deal with your four-legged family member. There are however a few ways you can help reduce the stress for everyone.
When the movers arrive to do the walk through of your home take a minute to introduce your cat or dog to our team. Animals are often territorial and may be hesitant around the strangers in their home, especially as they begin the moving process. You can even let the mover give your pet a treat to win them over.
Assign one family member, friend or neighbour to be in charge of the pet throughout the move. You will get wrapped up in directing the movers or doing your last minute tidying and don`t want to have to watch your pet too. Allow the animal to be a spectator to the action rather then being locked behind a closed door. This allows your cat or dog to see what is going on rather then have them stress in isolation.
Your car, aka moving vehicle number 2, will most likely be very packed. Make sure you leave ample amount of space for your furry friend to travel comfortably to your new home.
